[Call for Participation] 1st Asian Blogger Meet-up: Blogfest.Asia Nov. 5~8, Hong Kong
Dear friends,
The bloggers community in Asia is planning to have its first regional dialog in Hong Kong on Nov. 5~8, 2009. I apologize for this short notice but am happy to announce this good news to blogger / Internet community in the region. Attend the meeting and meet hundreds of bloggers from the neighborhood community — Australia, Burma (Myanmar), China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. The 3-day brainstorming and networking meet-up provides an unique opportunity to address “Change & Responsibility”, in Asia perspective. The complete blogfest.asia event program will consist of with one full-day conference (11/6), two great evening events / parties exclusively for participating bloggers, 1st Hong Kong Blogger Con (11/7), and educational workshop for NGOs (11/8). We will be also supporting CNBloggerCon which runs in parallel.
With support from several international organizations including DotAsia, we are able to provide some limited travel funding support to selected attendees as well (see http://dev.blogfest.asia/?page_id=15) . Attendees from Burma (Myanmar), Thailand, Vietnam are encouraged to apply immediately. If you wish to speak at the conference, we still have available slot so please submit your proposal to me directly at chiao@registry.asia

Full support consideration
Capacity up to 20 people (depending on available funds)
Blogfest.asia will provide up full travel funding support bloggers located in Asia to attend the event. Local incurred expenses including local transportation, two-night hotel accommodation, and meals will be handled and paid by blogfest.asia . Roundtrip airfare (up to USD $850) will be reimbursed to selected applicant after receiving attendee’s original receipts.
Blogger who wishes to apply for this opportunity must prepare and submit his / her brief bio (including 2 reference contact info), list areas of contribution to the meeting (including speaking contribution to upcoming or future events), flight booking record, and credit card information (if available) to secure a vacancy. Applicant will be reviewed by steering committee.
Important Dates:
– Oct. 09, 2009 (Extended!): Deadline for Submission
– Oct. 14, 2009: Announcement of successful applicant
– Oct. 17, 2009: Confirmation by successful applicant
